Where It Hurts

Exhibition

In this body of work, titled Where It Hurts, I am able to utilize both sculptural and graphic elements to speak directly about Rheumatoid Arthritis. With the incorporation of thermo-chromic (heat sensitive) ink and takeaways, Where It Hurts creates an interactive experience for the audience while also raising awareness for RA. Furthermore, the exhibition allows my audience to vicariously experience what it is like to have this disease and to administer compassion for those that suffer from it. This exhibition was open from April 25th to May 7th, 2016 at the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts in Birmingham.

Where It Hurts Poster Series was a winner of a 2017 Gold Addy in Birmingham's 59th Annual American Advertising Awards, a Gold Addy in 2017 District 7 and Silver in Nationals.
